Terms of Service

By using knowlocal.io ("the Service"), operated by Infonaut Ltd under the KnowLocal by GroLocal brand, you agree to these terms.

The Service

KnowLocal provides automated audits of Google Business Profiles and related local-visibility intelligence based on publicly available data, for informational purposes only. Most features are metered in credits (see below). A one-time signup credit is granted when you verify your email; you may buy additional non-expiring credit packs at any time.

KnowLocal credits — purchase, use & refunds

• What a credit is. One credit is one unit of prepaid usage on KnowLocal. Current prices: 1 credit = a basic scan; 3 credits = a PRO scan (extended audit); 2 credits = an on-demand weekly task. New accounts receive 5 free credits once after email verification (no card required). Top-up packs start at 20 credits; the price per credit is shown on /credits at checkout.
• Non-expiring, no auto-renew. Credits do not expire while your account exists. Credit packs are one-time purchases — nothing renews automatically and there is no subscription.
• Delivery. Credits are added to your wallet when Stripe confirms payment. Scans, reports and tasks are delivered digitally at the point of use (web, email, or connected AI assistant via MCP).
• Refunds & chargebacks. Because credits are digital and usable immediately, purchased credits are generally non-refundable once granted, except where UK law requires otherwise. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact privacy@knowlocal.io before disputing with your bank — we keep purchase and usage records. On a confirmed full refund or chargeback, we will claw back the purchased credits from your wallet (your balance may go negative if credits were already spent). Statutory rights that cannot be excluded still apply.
• Fair use. One account is intended for one business location (agency tiers may come later). We may suspend accounts that abuse the service, run bulk/automated scans beyond fair use, or attempt to circumvent credit metering; no refund is due on suspension for abuse.
• Pre-contract information. Before you pay, Stripe Checkout shows the pack size, total price, currency and your email. Keep your Stripe receipt for your records.

Legacy KnowLocal Plus (retired product)

KnowLocal Plus is no longer sold. If you purchased before the credit pivot, your historical terms may still apply for your original term:

• One-time cohort (before 29 July 2026): a 12-month guided programme bought with a single payment (no auto-renew).
• Subscription cohort (from 29 July 2026): a yearly auto-renewing programme — contact us to cancel renewal via your billing portal or privacy@knowlocal.io.

Legacy Plus terms (including any voluntary refund windows that applied at purchase) are preserved for those cohorts only. New customers buy credits instead.

No guarantees

Scores, benchmarks, revenue figures and recommendations are estimates based on available data and may be incomplete or inaccurate. We make no guarantee of ranking, revenue, or business outcomes. You are responsible for any actions you take.

Acceptable use

• Use the Service only for businesses you own or are authorised to assess.
• Do not abuse, overload, scrape, or attempt to disrupt the Service.
• We rate-limit and cap usage, and may restrict access, to protect the Service.

Fair-use limits

Scans run paid third-party data and AI on our account, so usage is subject to fair-use limits:

• Signup credit covers your first verified scan and trial usage — not unlimited free audits.
• Repeated scans of the same business may be served from cache within our TTL; fresh re-scans cost credits.
• The AI assistant (email) is limited to roughly 20 questions per person per day to keep automated costs sustainable.
• Automated, bulk or agency-style abuse is not permitted; buy credits for professional ongoing use.

Data processing

Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy & Cookie Policy, including the processors we rely on.

Intellectual property

The Service, reports and benchmarks are owned by Infonaut Ltd. Your own business data remains yours.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Infonaut Ltd is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the Service. The Service is provided "as is".
